Jhenaidah Ropa Aman plantation targets more than the target level, Zhenaidah has now produced more than the target level of transplanted aman plantation.

According to the Jhenaidah District Extension Department, in Jhenaidah district this year, there were targets for transplanting Aman rice in 96 thousand 901 hectares of land.
The area was planted in 98 thousand 650 hectares. In the last few years due to low prices of paddy, the Kusk farmers were losing interest in rice cultivation. But last year, due to high prices of rice, farmers have planted rice this year, more than millions of paddy.
Extra paddy transplantation has been increased in about 2,500 hectares of land in Shailkupa, Harinakunda, Maheshpur, Kotchandpur, Kaliganj and Jhenaidah in 6 upazilas of Jhenaidah district.
Mahidul Islam, a farmer of Ramnagar village of Jhenaidah upazila, said the loss of rice was falling for a few years. After the new Boro Rice was raised, the price of rice was being sold at Tk 500 per mound, medium saroo rice BR-28 was sold at Tk 650 to 700 and china rice worth 900 rupees.
Now the prices are being sold at a huge price of Tk 800 per tonne. The price of chicken rice increased to one thousand taka per maund. For example, many people have been selling basmati rice from 12 to 13 hundred rupees.
Another farmer said, if the price is such, rice cultivation will be reaped. For this, rice cultivation has been increased. So far the rice condition is good. The news of the attack of insect-spider was not found too much.
Due to the high rainfall this year, the cost of irrigation of rice will be lower. As a result, farmers of 6 upazilas of Jhenaidah district will now be more benefitted in rice cultivation.
